DIY Wine Cork Coasters – Step by Step
These cork coasters look great and they can protect your furniture, so when you have a company, it is always a cool idea to carry some with you. Let's see how to make some for ourselves.
You will start the journey of making your own cork coaster by cutting the wine cork in half. Keep going until you chop them all up.
Try to make them as equal as possible, because you want the surface of the roller coaster to be the same height and relatively flat.
Cut these three halves in half. Make sure to cut transversely this time, as shown in the figure below.
Next, you will use white acrylic paint and a paintbrush to start painting some corks white. We only covered some of them with paint and then dried them. Of course, you can choose different colors if you want.
Make sure to dry them for an appropriate time. When you pick them up for the next step, you don't want them to leave any extra marks on your hands.
Make sure to place the painted cork on a piece of white paper to avoid staining your table. You can paint all wine corks except one side-you can ignore the bottom.
Now, we will start to glue the wine cork to the cork coaster. Start in the middle, and then start from there.
Put the corks together and make sure to add hot glue to the sides as well. Mix wine corks-natural and white to create a lovely pattern.
Continue to add fragments to the outer layer. This time, just put them in the gap formed by the first two corks.
Add them until they look like a flower.
Step 3: Add the wine cork halves
When we started, you cut the three pieces in half. Now it's time to add them. You will place them in the gap created by following the previous steps. This will help make your creation more complete.
Now that your wine cork coaster is almost complete, it's time to decorate it. Pick up the glue gun again and start adding hot glue near the bottom of the coaster.
Then, you will pick up the ribbon and start gluing it near the bottom of the coaster, making sure that the bottom line of the ribbon is aligned with the bottom line of the cork.
After reaching around the coaster, measure the ribbon to overlap slightly and add some extra hot glue to the ribbon you have already glued.
Gently press one end of the ribbon and keep pressing for a few seconds until you are sure that the glue has set.
Finally, it's time to use the beautiful lace that we have been insisting on since we started this project. Add some hot glue to the ribbon, and then put the lace on it.
Slowly bypass the wine cork coaster and add more hot glue in a row. Press the lace on the glue line to make sure it spreads well on it.
When you are almost done, measure the lace and cut it so that the ends overlap a little bit. Add more hot glue and finish the lace arrangement.
Go ahead! You now have a beautiful wine bottle cork coaster to protect your furniture. It looks good, you can make many of these things, so they are ready for the next party you host. We believe that your results are just as good, if not better!
