DIY WOOL FELT BALL COASTERS
Hello friends! Today I came back with a fun little DIY coaster. Just before the holiday, I saw a picture of a felt ball table coaster. You may have noticed that these little felt balls have popped up throughout the process area. In the past holidays, I have seen a lot in garlands and decorations. Wanting to deal with these little guys cleverly, I decided to make some colorful tea coasters for my new office space!
As I will describe below, I basically glued the ball to some of the empty cork coasters I found at TJ Maxx. After doing more research while writing this article, I realized that these felt balls can also be worn on a rope and then sewn together. This will eliminate the need for cork coasters. This will also bring the felt balls closer. I can try this method with a bigger ball. If I do, I will tell you how to do it.
I am very satisfied with the result of my coaster. They appeared on this Instagram yesterday and I am very happy to see that they received such a positive response!
Let me tell you how I made them.
DIY WOOL FELT BALL COASTERS
Here’s what you’ll need:
1 cm wool felt balls (90-100 per coaster depending on the size)
cork coasters
E600 glue
First glue a felt ball in the center of the coaster.
I use a long wooden skewer to put the glue where I want it. When I found other rings, I just applied glue directly to the cork.
In order to keep the felt ball as tight as possible, you need to stop frequently to let the glue dry as you work around each roller coaster. I work on my coaster all day.
Keep working until your coaster is completely covered. For the last row, I have enough space to glue each ball to the coaster and then to the felt ball next to it. This makes the cork coaster almost disappear.
After everything is dry, your coaster is ready to use!
This is a super simple project, and I think the final product is very spectacular. The coasters are so unique and colorful, they are obviously the perfect complement to my space.
I also really like that they are customizable. Felt balls come in many colors, and you can make various shades of blue or more neutral gray and white trays. Either way, you will have a comfortable place to enjoy your favorite drink.
