We use DIY coasters to protect our furniture from moisture and stains. However, there is no reason why we can't make the coasters look good. All that is needed for this project is a table coaster and a paint pen. All you have to do is pick up the coaster and draw on it with your paint pen. For these colorful coasters, the supplies needed are: scrapbook paper, mod podge, fabric glue, transparent acrylic glaze, felt, sponge brush and tiles. Stick the paper on the tile and let it dry completely. Then paint on paper and tile with mod podge. Let it dry and repeat 2 or 3 times. Then spray the glaze on the tile twice to make it waterproof. Glue a piece of felt to the bottom of the tile with fabric glue and you are done.
These custom coasters are also easy to manufacture. You need tiles, mod podge, acrylic sealant, sponge brush, paper and cork mat or felt. Apply a thin layer of mod podge on top of each tile. Then put the paper on it. Add another layer of Mod Podge and repeat it two more times. Then spray 2 or 3 layers of acrylic sealant on the top. Cut a piece of cork board or felt and glue it to the bottom of the coaster.
A good idea is to use Scrabble to make custom coasters. You will need scrabble, a thin cork board, super glue, hot glue gun and sealer. First enter the 16 letters, and then enter the 4 words you want to use on the coaster. Then glue the letters together. Cut the cork and fix it on the letters with a glue gun. Spray a thin layer of sealant and enjoy.
For these roller coasters, the supplies needed are tiles, mod podge, brushes, cardstock, broadswords, felt pads and clear spray paint. First, cut the card stock to the required size. Then apply mod podge to the tile and put the card stock on it. Let it dry and coat the card stock with Mod Podge. Apply two more layers, and then add another layer of clear spray paint. Let it dry and repeat. Finally, place a felt pad in each corner.
